Eventually I started hearing things inside the house. Door knobs would be turning as if someone was trying to open the door. I heard footsteps down the hall as if someone was walking on the hardwood floors. While this was happening I would ask my boyfriend if he heard anything, and he would say he heard nothing. I started to feel uneasy at night. Even though my boyfriend was sleeping next to me, I felt alone. I felt that something

was near me, and it terrified me. No amount of comfort from my boyfriend took away that dread I was feeling.
I should mention the children's room.

It was a three-bedroom house, and one of the rooms was a children's room from the previous tenant. It was painted bright blue and was the brightest room in the house. It had a trap door in the closet to the crawl space which always creeped me out, and because we had no use for the room we just kept the door shut. It was empty. However, every time you walked past the room it gave you a weird feeling. Even my boyfriend said he felt weird walking past it.
