Comment by Amy: I live in Independence and have been a tour guide for the annual ghost walk - so I am wondering if a story told to me years ago could be true. Was this house located next to the train tracks in the downtown area ? I heard that a young girl lived alone with her father who worked on a ship - the claim is that he abused her and ended up killing her.
I wish I had heard the original story from a better source.
