Yes indeed! It is called candy cane Park but the lore would almost have it changed. I'm not sure what year it happened but a young woman walking through the park on her way home from night classes at eou was brutally murdered and violated by a man with a hatchet.
(I think it was in the 60's or 70s... Not sure) so since then locals have called it hatchet park. I too have lived here since birth and I'm 29.

I was born and raised in lagrande. The house that my family owns has been in our family for years. The earliest record we have found of the house was from 1906. How ever many years prior to that it was built I do not know...
