This happened a few years ago, but this experience has stayed with me all these years because I cannot debunk or explain it. To start with, my dad who experienced this with me does not believe in ghosts and never has. To this day he still thinks what we saw was a walking tree stump. We were driving along Wilsonville Road, close to entering Newberg on a Sunday in the fall. It was pretty early in the morning, around 7:00 or 7:30 am. As we came through a

wooded area into farmland and orchards, we both saw a figure in jeans or overalls and a red flannel shirt cross the road in front of us.
The apparition

was so solid that my dad had to slam on the brakes for fear of hitting this guy. Once he slammed on the brakes, the figure disappeared in thin air. There was no way someone could have run off the road, as there was a large bank on the right side of the road and a very steep drop on the other. We would have seen them run in the half-second it took for my dad to slam on the brakes. He kept going, did not even say a word about it, and the whole issue was dropped
