I rented a house for a few years on 2nd Street half way between the railroad tracks and the hillside which had a lot of poltergeist activity. Whatever it was it was helpful to me by opening my front door when I came up to it with arms full of groceries even though the door had been locked. It also did this for my girlfriend several times which really freaked her out. I, however, never felt that this presence wanted to harm me. What was scary was that

it really acted out mostly around my two young daughters and their friends, especially when they were being loud as children sometimes are.

night the children were very loud and running around in the living room. I heard a large bang that sounded like a shelf had fallen down in their bedroom closet. I ran into the empty room and did not see any shelf fallen, only a glass ceiling light cover that had been taken off. It had been sitting on the closet shelf which was completely across the room (over twelve feet across). It had bounced off the wall as if someone had thrown it across the room.
