In the year 2000 my home was located right next to Petersen School in Scappoose, OR. The school at that time was nearly 100 years old and my two children-- Ethan and Isabelle-- attended. Isabelle (9 years old) came home after every school day telling me about a new friend she made named Radah.
According to Isabelle Radah was very kind and smart. She told me of conversations they had together which I dutifully listened to not thinking much of it. Then

one day horror struck. Our little Isabelle did not come home from school with her brother.
Ethan told me he saw her that morning sitting alone on the

playground. He said she was staring at something and laughing. She was playing with an imaginary friend. Somebody named Ronald, I think. My heart froze.
Could it be? Was it Radah, Ethan? I asked hoping with all the life in me for him to say no. Oh yeah, Radah! That was it!.
