I quickly started the car, closed the roof, and began to leave. I can't explain how urgently we felt we needed to get away. The feeling of threat was very very strong.
The fog seemed to follow us and get thicker, and I did drive as fast as I safely could simply to get away from the feeling of danger. Neither of us spoke during this entire time. As I rounded into town, I went straight past my house and into town with all the lights. It wasn't

until we were nearly downtown that this feeling went away. We never talked about it again, but I have never returned to the park since.
Given Auburn's

historical involvement in conflicts with native people, my assumption given the distinct sensation of multiple people or beings is that this could be the presence (or residual memory of if you prefer that terminology) of either upset natives or possibly us soldiers that were massacred locally. I've never heard if anyone else had the same experience, and it would be interesting to see if anyone else got the same feeling there. Submitted by CM
