When I was kid my school bus would drive past the boarded up Greg's Snyder corners groceries store next to the 76 gas station in a Quonset hut on the old Kirkland Redmond Road known as NE 70th. This would stir my imagination about murders and ghosts; however, this is a true story which did occur on Halloween day 1957. Look it up on the net. On Halloween day in 1957 exactly 65 years ago today in the area called Snyder's Corner near Bridle Trails Shopping Center in Kirkland, WA the owner of Greg's grocery was found shot dead in his store. Five .38 caliber bullet holes were found in his body. It is an unsolved crime. Was the murderer the owner of the nearby bowling alley with a business grudge or the Deputy who packed a . 38 revolver the same caliber as the murder weapon and married the widow a few months later? Or perhaps a stranger just passing by freshly escaped from the asylum? Does anyone remember? Does anyone care? Doe this restless spirit reveal who did him in? Dead men tell no tales...
