When I was in my early 20s in 2005, my mother-in-law died of cancer. We were very close, as I had known her since I was in my early teens. My father-in-law, out of loneliness, re-married very quickly to a divorced woman from Illinois that he'd just met on the internet just four short months later. After several encounters with this new wife, we found out she was a woman with a difficult personality, very narcissistic in nature. Needless to say, we didn't like

us out to dinner to a fancy restaurant overlooking Liberty Bay ''to start over. '' OK, so we agreed to try again and meet there. (I can't remember what the restaurant was called back then, but it was in the space that is currently The Loft Restaurant and Bar in Poulsbo, WA. ) After we ordered, our new mother-in-law kept picking on my husband's deceased mom, mentioning how ugly the house was before she came to redecorate, how fat my husband's mother
