(...continued from the previous page)
The hospital building still exists and now is wooden two-story apartment building on Morris Avenue just to the south of Why Too Grocery on 3rd Street. This past vortex of such emotional energy may or may not be subject to any spectral episodes. It must be remembered that this building had a noble purpose to help those who were suffering and also the happy events of babies being born. However, it would be interesting to hear any comments of any Renton resident

In the town of Renton, Washington 3rd Street is the main drag of the old part of downtown. It is a one-way street that heads due east out of town and up the hill that borders the east side of the city. As it crosses under the I-405 freeway, it has a name change to something more sinister, Cemetery Hill Road. The road indeed leads to modern style Greenwood Memorial Park with the slab type headstones flush to ground. However, the original slab type headstone for the deceased Rock and Roll legend Jimi Hendrix is now ensconced in elaborate engraved marble pagoda shaped monument.
However, this is not the only cemetery this roads services. Just as the road begins its steep climb off to the right is the entrance road that leads to Mount Olivet Cemetery which dates back to early days of Renton. As you stroll through the grounds, the names on the tombstones seem familiar as names of old friends. Then you realize that the streets of Renton share these names. History tells us that 3rd Street, a. K. A Cemetery Road, has past that goes far back in time when this was a trail that Native Americans used for perhaps many centuries into the past to travel from the east to tidelands to conduct trade and that Mount Olivet origins lie in that it was an ancient burial ground.
From Mount Olivet's front gate is panorama view of the City of Renton. It was here I had a perhaps spectral encounter. It was the middle of the afternoon on a quiet weekday. I had set up my medium format camera on a tripod just outside the gate with the intent on photographing the view. I was occupied with many adjustments this old style camera needs when I sensed a presence. Looking up from my camera, I was startled to see a large man all dressed in purple. His Homburg hat, vest, coat, trousers, and shoes were all the same shade of purple. He was tall and powerfully built, yet his age seemed to be in his eighties. He began to speak in a deep voice in a stern but not unkind manner. He began to admonish me about taking pictures in the graveyard.
