Perhaps this had something to do with that it supposed that cameras can capture spirit souls in Native beliefs. I politely pointed out that my camera was aimed towards the vista of the city and that I was actually just outside the property line of the cemetery. This seemed to placate his mood. Then he verified the ancient origins of this cemetery when I asked him some pertinent questions. Perhaps he was somehow connected to cemetery, or maybe he

was a guardian spirit of some sort. This all depends your perspective, and how can you really be sure either way? Treat these places with respect, and

these places and their caretakers will respect you. However, I have not been back there since.
