The old safes are still in the basement, and the owner unlocks it when he is in the basement, he is the only one with the combination, when he returns o the basement, the safe is always closed and locked again.
When a ghost hunter came to take a look the safe would not unlock, after 10 attempts the owner stopped trying, then the next morning the safe opened in the absence of the ghost hunter,,.

Comment by Realist: There was no safe in the basement. I knew the former owner of the restaurant that was there before the John l Scott office. I had been in the basement many times.
