saw the recliner my dad used to sit in rocking back and forth with the foot rest up. I froze for a second and before I could blink the chair snapped shut and the room went black.
I heard a faint sigh and then a whisper that I could only make out as ''i love you bud''. I walked back into my room and went to bed. Ocassionally I still see that chair rocking back and forth and I think of my dad and how he's still with me to this day.

My friends and I decided to visit the Holy Cross cemetery behind costco on north division in Spokane Washington at 3:30 am one Saturday night. We parked our car and slipped through a gap in the 10 foot tall fence that surrounds the property which is enormous.
We walked through the pine forest (which was technically the backside of the cemetery) to some open air mausoleums. We were standing around just chatting deciding what to do next when all of a sudden I was being drawn to one of the name plaques among the hundreds entombed in that marble wall.
