Many years ago my parents built a house in Sunnyside, Washington. The house still belongs to our family; it is up on Harrison Hill. We had been living in the house for about two years. This happened around 1962. I was sitting in the kitchen watching TV. My dad was also in the room with me, but he was sleeping in the chair behind me. We had an entry way to our house. There were stairs from this entry way leading to our basement and glass French door that went to the living room. There was also another door that led to the room I was in. I heard what sounded like someone walking up the stairs from the basement. Then I felt like someone was watching me. I turned to see who it was, and I saw what looked like long white straight hair flying past the door behind me. It was as if someone had been peeking in at me, but when they saw me turn to look they ran towards the living room. All I saw was the hair flying. I woke my father up and told him what I had seen. He said it was probably my mother who was probably doing laundry in the basement and had come back up. We went to my parents' room to ask her. When we got there she was sound asleep with a book on her lap. I woke her to ask her if she had been downstairs. She said no, she had not. I then told her what I had seen. I saw her and my dad look at each other, and she said ''oh yes, I forgot I was downstairs. It was me you saw. ''
I knew it had not been her. My mother had white hair at the time, but it was not long. We no longer lived in that house in Sunnyside, we have moved to the Seattle area. I was speaking to my brother, and the topic about ghosts came up. He then told me he had seen a ghost in our house in Sunnyside. He said it had happened one night he had come home to visit from college. We figured it was around 1968 or 1970. He too had been watching TV in the same room when he heard the footsteps on the stairs. He said he felt like someone was watching him, but he saw half of the face as the apparition turned to run. He said the profile looked like the profile of an Indian woman. Neither one of us had heard about what we each had seen. At the time he was only ten years older than me and did not live at home. However, we both had gone to our parents and told them what we had seen. When we had heard about what we had seen the both of us went and spoke to our parents about it.

Our parents said yes they remembered when that had happened, but they did not believe in ghosts, so they just played it off like it had not happened. I never did see anything else in this house nor have I seen a ghost since. I did, however, always feel afraid when I lived in that house. I remember when I would be sleeping and right before waking up I could hear what sounded like people talking in the next room. I could never understand what was being said, but I would sound like a conversation. When I was fully awake there was no one there. In our basement there was a door that led to the garage. This door was very hard to open. It did not fit correctly on the hinges, and it would drag on the floor whenever we had to open it. I had to use a lot of force to open it up every time. One day we were in the basement, and that door just flew open all by itself. Weird!.

I lived in Birch Bay at a house I bought. I experienced so much paranormal in and around the house. I started hearing people talk and say things about what I was doing. I thought it was the neighbors, but they weren't outside. I thought to myself. ''am I schizo?'' Well, it progressively got louder, and I used to go outside at night and listen to them with a blanket over my head. While I laid on the couch they would all slowly gather around me and get closer and closer. I could feel fear emanate from them onto me. Once they got as close as the couch, I would have to go inside. This happened all the time every night.
