When I was a teenager (37 now) we moved into this older house in the Hearthwood neighborhood, on Beech St.. From the second I walked in the door, It felt strange. At least 3 times a week (only when I was alone) the power would suddenly go out. Normally that does happen in older homes when you use a lot of outlets, but this usually just happened, and shortly after I got home from school. The breaker was in the basement. Which was very very scary.
After a year or so of living there, I had my best friend over for the night. We decided to bravely sleep in the basement since my cat had 4 kittens in there and they were so cute. We turned out the lights and had laid down to go to sleep. When suddenly a very bright and fast ball of light (the size of a cantaloupe), or what looked like energy shot from one side of the room to the other. Into a hole in the wall of the room that led to the underneath part of the house that was not part of the basement. It was so big and bright that it lit up the room and for a split second left a streak of light (like a tail).

I was numb with fear (and chills), and I asked my friend very quietly if she saw what I saw. And in the pure darkness I heard the same fear I felt in her voice answering me, ''yes. '' We bolted up the stairs to my sister's room above us and jammed through her door and flew onto her bed to tell her what we had seen. But were halted by the most afraid look on my sister's face. Before we could even start to tell her, she said ''I just saw an orb!!! A ghost! This place is haunted, I knew it. '' And we all looked at each other and screamed.

Needless to say, If the breaker popped after that, I'd just go next door to wait for my mom to get home. A lot of times I heard talking through the floors down there. And so I tried to stay away from home as much as possible for the next year. When my father moved back in with us. He very shortly after that got so sick, then he went to the doctor. He was diagnosed with late stage cancer, and within 3 months was almost bear bones. He died in my arms there, in the living room on his hospital bed.
We spoke briefly and talked of family, of regrets, apologies, and messages that I was to give the others who wouldn't come to see him. I actually saw his eye's in his last moments alive. He saw something before us, someone. I know he did, whether it was God, his mother, an angel, I don't know, but it was good and it was time. I felt his spirit leave his body.
We moved out the very next day.. What was stranger than that is 11 years to the day later, my husband and I went there. I was feeling like it had been long overdue as we then lived a block away. So we went up and knocked on the door. A Spanish family greeted us and had no problem with me paying a visit after I told them I had lived there too. They were very dismayed by my story, and began to tell me they had lived there for 11yrs and had seen a man spirit in the house several times.
