Several years ago my husband, children, and I lived in an old farmhouse on South Russell Creek Road, maybe about two miles from the old Stubblefield Cemetery. He and I each had separate things happen to us while we lived there. He worked nights, and I was alone in the upstairs bedroom while both of our small children were asleep in their rooms. The hall light was on, so I had some light coming into the bedroom.

of the night lights of Walla Walla, when someone said my name in a low voice next to my ear. I said ''what?'' thinking my husband had come home early.

I turned to look, and I was completely alone. He told me later after we moved into town that he had actually seen ''someone'' in the same room watching him while he was in bed, and he said that ''someone'' left the room. We moved out of that old farmhouse a few months later. When we were teens we used to go out to the Stubblefield Cemetery, as many teens did. It definitely had a real spooky feeling about it.
