that he said from Mr. Hogan, the man in my room. She checked immediately and of course there was no man in his room. As time went the family and many friends who frequented the house became familiar with Mr. Hogan as he would travel up and down the stairs and in and out of the house.
He was fond of leaving the front door open until someone would yell at him and then he would come back and close it. Walla Walla Valley is a very spirit filled place.

I grew up in Dixie which is about 7 miles east of Walla Walla. When you go for a walk in Dixie you never walk alone. Most of the houses there are historic.

The one I grew up in is about 150 years old and started out as a saloon and bordello. Since then it has been a cat house many times, a hotel, a boarding house, and finally my parents turned it into a single family dwelling in the late 1960s. At some point in it's history there had been a fire in the upper living quarters and some people had died. We don't know who but we have a pretty good idea. This was the first sighting that we had that anyone
