An old Native American man fell in the river and drowned here way before there was a town here and his ghost still haunts the area where SR 20 crosses the river. If you want to see him go to the bridge on a rainy night, he only shows up in rain, the heavier the rain the better your chances. He's upstream from the bridge on the left side of the river bank. You have to focus real hard for a long time. If you are patient you will catch a glimpse of him. But

you have to be patient. I used to do it and sometimes it takes an hour, but it's worth it. Submitted by Jk

Comment by Spencer: As a one-time visitor, I can verify this. I was here in 2012 and was staying at the Methow River Lodge and Cabins. My wife had injured her back and was laid up in bed, so I went for a walk along the Riverbank near the bridge on the south west side, and it had started to rain. I was completely spooked as there was definitely a supernatural presence following me and a nearby Labrador started barking like mad. However, I didn't see anything. It made such an impression. It led me years later to find this post!.
