Comment by B: Hi people. I'm in my 20s and grew up on this street with my grandparents who have lived there as long as the road has been there. The house is for sure abandoned, and I've explored it with siblings and friends lots of times. It is very creepy, and there are old items and stains. Everything has been still and deteriorating for decades. There are old food containers, dirty clothes, dishes, furniture, crumbling stairs, and sometimes a stray 7-11 cup from your occasional teen or creek squatter.
There is a rope hanging (not a noose), but I think it has to do with the horses living there. As a kid I'd get stopped on the road multiple times by people driving by and asking about Emma and the story.
The story is not true though. My grandparents moved onto the road in the 50s in the first houses that were built there and were friends with Emma. Emma owned the land which is why it's called Emma Lane. She was a hardworking old lady with ''a hunchback'' according to my grandpa and not married to my knowledge. She had a child named Birtha who lived secluded on our road, and we would sometimes drop off candy in her mailbox. Birtha recently died and my grandparents said Emma died before I was born of old age or some other health complication.

The house and barn is still there deteriorating with everything still in it, but it's been on private property owned by neighbors who keep horses on the land.

They don't like people trespassing, but we always did as kids. I don't encourage you to go :) (posted April 2019).
