I was 7 or 8 years old living in an apartment with my mom and dad named nbf. I will never forget what I saw, I never mentioned it to any one because I was afraid what people would call me. I saw an old caucasian man looking around the age of 50 maybe 60 years of age on the chilling of my room with an army hat on.
He looked very angry and he moved his mouth to say something but no word came out. I told my mom and we all moved out when I turned 10 years old.

The pediatric unit of the old Vaughn hospital was haunted.. Or, at least, I believe so, as does my mother, who worked as an rn on the unit when I was a little girl. I was only 6 or 7 years old, ad often my mom could not find a babysitter for me, so her manager allowed her to bring me to work on days when the unit was not very busy.I distinctly remember strange happenings in the room I was always stayed in--302. Looking back now, I realize that every time I went to work with her, I stayed in that room--because it was always empty. When it was busy on the unit my mom made me close the door of the room and watch the TV. That was always when I was creeped out most, because I could not go out of the room if I got too scared. Many things happened in that room: the TV often took on a mind of it's own--changing the channels, the volume, even turning off on it's own.I even had 'battles' with it, changing the channel back and forth with whatever was doing it. After I spent several work-days in the room, it was not just the TV. When I would try to take a nap, the toilet in the bathroom would flush on it's own.The sink turn on, making me get out of the bed to turn it off. I never liked being in the room with the door closed, but I was never scared to the point of refusing to go into the room... The nurses' station was right next to it.Down the hallway, room 312 was also reported to have strange occurrences. When my mom switched shifts to work at overnight, she and the other nurses were spooked when the call-light to room 312 would go off, and they knew that particular room was no occupied that night. My mom even went to the room to make sure one night, when the light continuously went off, to find that the janitors had cleaned the room earlier, and sealed the door with yellow tape to signify that it was clean. She removed the tape and went in, thinking they may be inside playing a prank on her. The room was empty, and she felt very uneasy being there alone. She avoided that end of the hallway the rest of the night. The old Vaughn is now gone--it was closed down when the new one was built. After sitting unused for many years, it was recently torn down, and all that remains is an empty field. I am now 21... And I still get chills when I pass that field. Feb 2009. .
